Pre-coursework

If you register for the Careers Workshop you will be given a personality questionnaire called the Myers Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) when you arrive at the main ELSO conference. We would like you to complete the questionnaire and hand it back at the registration desk during the conference - it only takes about 30 - 45 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers to the questionnaire – it is simply an awareness-raising exercise. This is optional - you don’t have to complete this exercise or you may have done it already. If so, remember to take a note of your result from last time. This analysis can cost you around €100 in the commercial world, so it is worth taking the opportunity to do it here. You will receive your feedback in confidence when you arrive at the workshop and we will discuss the MBTI further during the workshop. The majority of people have found this exercise interesting, informative and helpful in terms of their career planning and basic self-awareness.

For more information on MBTI go to: http://www.opp.eu.com/MBTI_step_I.aspx

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with the workshop tutor, Sarah Blackford (Society for Experimental Biology), s.blackfordlancaster.ac.uk
