Please join ELSO celebrating our 31st Annual Conference in Waikoloa Hawaii.
The main conference "Improving ECLS Outcomes" will begin at 7:00 am on Thursday, September 24th ending Saturday, September 26th at 1pm.
Dr. John Fraser will be our keynote speaker this year and will kick off the conference after a very special traditional Hawaiian Opening Ceremony. There will be research updates, debates, neonatal, pediatric and adult breakouts, sessions geared towards RNs, RTs and perfusionists, mini oral sessions of the best submitted abstracts and a special session on quality and outcomes. We will continue with electronic abstract submission (details can be found on the event page).
Join us for the pre-conference “Team ECMO - Learning from each other” on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 7:00 AM, through 3 PM.
On Monday September 21st and Tuesday September 22nd ELSO will conduct a cannulation workshop. You can either attend Monday or Tuesday. Space is limited to 20 people per day.
The ECMO Cannulation Workshop will train physicians to safely perform percutaneous ECMO cannulation. Taught by a team of international experts using realistic cannulation models, attendees will learn all aspects of cannulation in a small-group hands-on format. Specific content includes equipment selection, vessel assessment, ultrasound-guided vascular access, serial dilation, and cannula placement and securement. Instructors will emphasize the value of imaging and address complication troubleshooting. At the conclusion of the course participants will be prepared to perform percutaneous veno-venous, veno-arterial, and bi-caval ECMO cannulations at their institution.
The Center of Excellence and FELSO awardees will be honored on Thursday, September 24th at the evening reception that will take place at the venue.
Join us on a run or walk through one of the most unique landscapes that is Hawaii. Part of the path traveled by the Ali’i (royalty/chiefs) gives this hike its name “King’s Trail”. There is no extra fee for this event which will take place Saturday at 5:30 AM.
We hope to see you at the Hilton Waikoloa Village this September.
