This two-day hands-on simulation course, hosted at Houston Methodist Hospital in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, is designed in alignment with ELSO guidelines and incorporates scenario-based learning and interactive discussions. Tailored for MDs, RNs, RTs, NPs, PAs, and subspecialty fellows, the course is ideal for participants with a foundational understanding of ECMO physiology or those who have completed the ELSO ECMO Fundamentals online course (recommended prerequisite). Please note: This is an ELSO non-credit course. Utilizing high-fidelity simulation, this immersive program will guide learners through ECMO indications and contraindications, circuit components and their functions, as well as ECMO circuit management and troubleshooting. In-person attendance is required. Space is limited. Participants will also experience the dynamic environment of Houston—a vibrant, cosmopolitan city known for the Johnson Space Center, global cuisine, and its reputation as the culinary and cultural capital of the South. Prerequisite: Completion of ELSO online modules.
