Dr. Aniket Rali earned his double bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Political Science from Vanderbilt University. He graduated with an MD from the University of Tennessee and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western University. Dr. Rali completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Kansas and then a sub-specialization fellowship in critical care medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Subsequently, he completed additional sub-specialization in advanced heart failure and heart transplantation at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and currently serves as an associate professor of medicine and anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He serves as the co-director of medical cardiovascular intensive care unit and leads their critical care cardiology research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also currently serves as the co-chair for ELSO’s scientific oversight committee. His academic interests include critical care cardiology, with a focus on cardiovascular hemodynamics, advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation

Dr. Jamel Ortoleva is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was awarded his MD in May of 2012. He completed residency in Anesthesia at Yale New Haven Hospital, Critical Care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2018. He is a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist and Intensivist at Boston Medical Center and is regularly involved in the care of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) patients. He is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology through the Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography. He is the director of research in the department of Anesthesiology at Boston Medical Center with over 140 peer reviewed manuscripts. He is co-editor for the critical section of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia and has performed over 450 article reviews. His research interests include mechanical circulatory support decision making, mechanical circulatory support initiation and management, vasoplegia management, right ventricular failure, echocardiography, and resuscitation. ​
